At 90 years old, my wife and I realized that staying in our large, two-level home by the lake no longer made sense. We needed a place where we could be safe, comfortable, and cared for—and we found exactly that at Lake Mills Independent & Assisted Living.We were fortunate that our granddaughter was managing the community when we first moved in, and today, our great-granddaughter has taken on that role. It’s a true family connection in every way. But even if you remove the family ties, I would still say this is a wonderful place to live.Everything here is convenient. We don’t worry about groceries or daily needs—if we need anything, help is just a call away. The staff, many of whom we’ve happily “adopted” as our own, are kind, attentive, and make us feel truly at home.We enjoy breakfast in the dining room a few mornings each week, but lunch and dinner are delivered to our apartment, allowing us to maintain that cozy, just-the-two-of-us atmosphere. It’s the best of both worlds. From fun programs like bingo and travel presentations to even happy hour, there’s always something to look forward to.I recommend Lake Mills to anyone who asks. It’s a great place, filled with great people—and we feel incredibly lucky to call it home.
